From joy rides in sunny weather to family vacations and trips to the lake, Americans spend more time in their cars during summer months than any other time of the year. This means your mobile advertising is more visible than ever when the sun is highest and brightest. And that means you need to keep the following tips in mind to protect your vinyl vehicle wrap from the hot summer sun. Doing so provides a protection to your wrap applied with Tint ToolsCar Wrap Tools and ppf squeegee.

1. Park it in the Shade

Keeping your vehicle parked out of direct sunlight is one of the biggest factors that will help protect your car wrap. This is because sunlight can cause the wrap to shrink, brown, crack and fade, leading to expensive replacements. Although avoiding the sun is impossible when driving around for hours on end in the blistering heat, you can take those small extra steps to give your vehicle a break by parking indoors or in the shade whenever possible.

2.Have your Car Wrap Applied Vertically

When car wraps are applied vertically, it makes it much more difficult for UV rays to penetrate them. Horizontally applied vehicle wraps allow for the sun’s rays to penetrate the seams of the wraps. Vertical application will ensure that your vehicle wrap will not become dull during the summer months.

3.Use a Vinyl-Safe Wax

Apply a vinyl-safe wax from 3M or Meguiar to give your vinyl wrap a protective coating that guards against potentially harmful UV rays. Pay attention to the ingredients in your wax, avoiding fillers or other properties that could stain your vinyl wrap. A good wax job should last one to three months; make sure you wash your vehicle thoroughly before waxing and check the wax coat each time you wash.

4.Keep Tabs on Dirt and Debris

Dirt and other particles your car picks up along the road can quickly become a problem for your wrap between washings. Take a few minutes out of each day to get rid of the debris that’s collected on your vehicle.

5.Cleanings

You want to make the most out of the beautiful wrap your car is cloaked in. Especially during June-September, we notice an increase in smog and pollutants. Because of this, it is ideal to give your vehicle a good washing every once to two weeks. The best method is hand washing, as this preserves the look of the wrap.

Should you fail to do so, your wrap will start to show signs of staining. While these black smudges may seem like no big deal on the surface, the fact of the matter is, once they appear, there isn’t a chance of removing them from your wrap.
